Why won’t Jesus Save Me?

This Article comes from viewing a short “Film Clip” which came from a News Crew in England who were interviewing a diverse group of representative from a wide raft of different ethnic, culture groups and denominations.  The portion of the clip was solely in relationship to the Christian gentleman, who was answering questions put to him about his specific Faith.  When he got to the point of the Biblical account of “Jesus soon returning to take his followers to Heaven,” pretty much all those around him were instantly furious with him.  The basic thrust was in essence, “how dare your Jesus Christ take just the Christians to heaven and then leave me and all my fellow likeminded Ethnic/Religious believers behind.”

The Hindu was the most vocal, followed by a group of other Eastern Religions all voicing the same concept.  One wondered where their “Prophet/Leader” was, so why would Jesus come for somebody who did not even want him as ruler and sovereign in their lives.  Then I Pondered, would Buddha or any of the other Prophet/Leaders represented in these various other Religions, when they came to set up their unique eternity, kingdom or whatever, would they come along and collect up all the Christians at the same time and then give them glorious honour and space in their new world?  Well one really does start to wonder.

This looked instantly to me, so much like the story of the “Wise and Foolish Bridesmaids” as here were these representatives and leaders of these various and diverse groups, all in essence, now knocking on the Christian’s Door, saying “Let me in.”  In this life they wanted nothing at all to do with Christianity, Jesus Christ, but now when the “Chips are Down,” and if their Religion ever fails to deliver an “Amazing Eternity Package,” well then they just wanted to switch horses in the middle of the race as it were and switch allegiance to somebody who is now offering something way better than their current undelivered rewards package, but then these amazing rewards are being handed out right now.

One sort of wondered where their commitment was, they are sort of talking with a “Forked Tongue” as it were; hey they were so dedicated to their old Religious System, but hey, if yours in the end has way better rewards, then we will happily switch over to you and collect a very large serving from whoever is dishing out your rewards now, so what ever happened to their dedication and allegiance to their beliefs?  Then we ask a very personal question; “How dedicated and committed am I to Jesus Christ?” And then to ask, “Is my lifestyle compatible with the system and rules of Jesus Christ?”  “Would I even fit in, to an Eternal Life run under Jesus Christ, could I live eternally with Jesus Christ as supreme Ruler and forever run on his laws in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

I guess the answer is now right in front of our noses, as it all depends on how well we are currently living our lives, so who is the focus of our attention, and who is currently the King and Ruler in our lives, Jesus Christ or something or somebody else?  It is a wee bit too late to get to the finish line and find out that we are now “Disqualified” and that the whole race of this life was a complete waste of time and effort, for like the Bible Story of Belshazzar, we may well come up well short of the entry standards, and then like Belshazzar, who died that very night, find ourselves locked out of the “Heavenly Kingdom,” just plain ole lost.

We have Paul’s admonition in this verse as found in Hebrews 3:12-15 “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.  But exhort one another daily, while it is called today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.  For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;  while it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.”

Paul is advising us to check things out very carefully for ourselves and to do it today, to review everything, and to choose the right path to walk in, for as the verse in Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”  Jesus gave us this admonition in John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

It sort of looks like our irate people are going to have to be irate at Jesus Christ as they bang on the Locked Door, as it will be way too late for them, just like the Foolish Bridesmaids, who found out that outside is the wrong side of the door to be on and that they should have made some dramatic allegiance changes a long time ago, chose the correct leader and then aligned themselves with him and lived in his ways, so let us chose carefully Today.

Dear Reader; There is only one door into Heaven, and that is Jesus Christ, and this is not Ethnic, or Denomination, or Race, or Creed or any other such Door, it just simply means, that you personally, are 1000% for Jesus, living in the word, obedient to all his commands (Matt 4:4) and in an intimate and loving relationship with Jesus Christ, and you have salvation, but Jesus cannot save those who are not his property, for that is theft, and Jesus is no thief, so Jesus saves only those who belong to him; so do you belong to Jesus Christ?
