The Journey

The Boarding gate swings open, and you stand and join the throng pressing down the boarding gang-way, and up to the door of the plane, boarding pass firmly grasped, presented to the attendant, welcomed aboard, you shuffle on down the aisle, vainly searching the sea of seats, searching for your row of seats, then your seat number, finally found, trolley case popped into the overhead locker, plop into your seat right on top of those cold hard seat belt buckles, you wiggle and squirm, extract them and fit them up, low and tight, you are boarded.  Passengers keep pouring in, finding space overhead for things, sorting out seating, handbags, books, tablets and such are readied for when you are airborne, the last stragglers come on board, the door closes, shutting you safely inside, and then you notice.

Around you in the aisle are the hostesses, those guys and gals, that take such an amazing care of you right through the flight, now giving you the safety briefing, showing you how to protect yourself if a crisis should eventuate, how to safely exit the plane, you will survive cause we are here to look after you, sort of your “Guardian Angels.”  Look into their smiling faces and then it is clear, they are all in matching “Uniforms” clearly perfectly representing the Airline you are flying with, perfectly clean, pressed to perfection, not a thread out of place, not a crease to be found, hair absolutely prefect and in order, as if ready for meeting a Dignitary or Monarch, shoes in showroom condition, hands perfectly clean, nails perfectly manicured, ladies with nice subdued nail polish perfectly applied, absolutely prefect in every miniscule detail, perfectly representing the Airline in every possible way.

Matthew 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”  Revelation 1:5-6 “And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”  Revelation 22:11-12 “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”

Quote; “In the City of God “there shall be no night.” None will need or desire repose. There will be no weariness in doing the will of God and offering praise to His name. We shall ever feel the freshness of the morning and shall ever be far from its close. . . . All the treasures of the universe will be open to the study of God’s redeemed. Unfettered by mortality, they wing their tireless flight to worlds afar—worlds that thrilled with sorrow at the spectacle of human woe and rang with songs of gladness at the tidings of a ransomed soul. The great controversy is ended. Sin and sinners are no more. The entire universe is clean. One pulse of harmony and gladness beats through the vast creation. From Him who created all, flow life and light and gladness throughout the realms of illimitable space. From the minutest atom to the greatest world, all things, animate and inanimate, in their unshadowed beauty and perfect joy, declare that God is love.” {CTr 372}

Matthew 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”  Are we like the Stewards and Stewardesses on professional Airlines, perfect in all our ways, dressed in the Robe of Christ’s Righteousness, perfectly representing our Employer (God our Father).  Proverbs 3:5-7 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”

Are we making progress or are we camped by the side of the road?  What would happen if we had an “Army style Inspection?”  Would we pass that intense scrutiny of everything?  Matthew 25:21 NIV “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”  Ephesians 6:13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”  We are admonished to be “Always in Full Uniform,” not part of it, “Whole Armour” is the instruction to us all, so would you be just like the “Airline Flight Attendants” impeccably dressed in full corporate attire, and in “Showroom condition” or would we be like Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” and “come up short” and are either not in “Uniform” or we have failed to take proper care of it, and we are not “Perfectly Representing?”

Revelation 7:14-17 “And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.  They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”  Question; Are you and I in “Full Uniform” all washed and perfect, on duty and at our Post?”  How would you and I fare when standing among Flight Attendants, let us all then scrub up, quit sin and sinning, and be doing, for we are yet to have fellowship with Angels, the Redeemed and God, there is a Journey to Heaven before us, so let us be always ready and in “Full Uniform.”  If Airline Stewards and Stewardesses, were the measure for entrance to heaven, then how well are you dressed in Godly Uniform, when compared to them?  Is it not passed time we presented ourselves, in the full uniform of Christ’s Righteousness, and out-shined the Airlines?
