Don’t go There!
We can all relate to this, some to a much greater extent than others; and the very lucky ones, to a very minor extent, as we all have things in our past that are not nice, some are even excessively horrid, we all, just do not ever go there anymore. Some of these situations in our past were inflicted upon us by others, outside from us, not by our choice, and some were situations that we inadvisably placed ourselves into, and in “Hind-sight” should not have ever gone that way, and then we have on-goingly suffered… Continue reading
Un-Toll the Bell
There is a very old saying that goes something like this, “You cannot un-toll the bell,” which means, that once you ring any bell, you are now unable to rush about and gather up the sound waves out there in the air and burry them way out of sight, and then to go into the ears and minds of all the hearers, and then to gather up that sound and erase the memory of the hearing of the bell, and to then carefully burry that also, deep out of sight and hearing, so that there is now… Continue reading
Here is an interesting portion of Scripture that I recently read, and it is actually quite current in some ways, so I share it with you now. Ezra 4:11-16 “This [is] the copy of the letter that they sent unto him, [even] unto Artaxerxes the king; Thy servants the men on this side the river, and at such a time. Be it known unto the king, that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the rebellious and the bad city, and have set up the walls [thereof], and… Continue reading
Glow little Glow-worm
Quote; “As the stars tell us that there is a great light in heaven with whose glory they are made bright, so Christians are to make it manifest that there is a God on the throne of the universe whose character is worthy of praise and imitation. The bright beams of heaven’s light are shining upon your pathway, dear reader, and I pray that you may make the most of your opportunities. Receive and cherish every heaven-sent ray, and your path will grow brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. We gain strength by walking… Continue reading
Train the Mind
Quote; “God requires the training of the mental faculties. He designs that His servants shall possess more intelligence and clearer discernment than the worldling, and He is displeased with those who are too careless or too indolent to become efficient, well-informed workers. The Lord bids us love Him with all the heart, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and with all the mind. This lays upon us the obligation of developing the intellect to its fullest capacity; that with all the mind we may know and love our Creator.
If placed… Continue reading
The Fallen Tree
The weather was very stormy, and the night seemed to go on forever, the lightning flashed, the thunder roared, and the rain hammered all night, and the gardener waited patiently until morning light when the storm had finally passed, now he could go out to survey the gardens. There were leaves scattered all about, there were twigs and small branches scattered about, the flower beds were pressed flat, but sunshine should have them standing high again, standing tall and facing the sunshine, and then in the midst of the garden, he found it.
The storm had… Continue reading
God’s Saving Providence
Quote; “The fact that we are called upon to endure trials show that the Lord Jesus sees in us something precious which He desires to develop. If He saw in us nothing whereby He might glorify His name, He would not spend time in refining us. He does not cast worthless stones into His furnace. It is valuable ore that He refines. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28.
God never leads His children otherwise… Continue reading
In Hind Sight
On Saturday June 23, 12 boys and their coach from the Wild Boars football team set out on their mission, right after soccer practice, to a 45-minute bike ride from their school to the notorious Tham Luang cave system, Thailand’s longest, with a series of tunnels, slippery rocks and cliffs with stark drop-offs shrouded in darkness, during the country’s wet season. Their goal was to scrawl their names on the wall at the end of the tunnel. Monsoon rain quickly turned their escape route, and all caverns and tunnels behind them, into raging dirty flood… Continue reading
Australian War Memorial
If you have ever been to Canberra, the Capital City of Australia, you will find that at 5pm each day, they have the “Last Post Ceremony” and this is an “All Standing Service” held at the Museum around “The Pool of Reflection.” You can even watch them on “YouTube,” and looking back over the pool, out through the main entrance, down ANZAC Parade, out across the lake, over the old Parliament Building and up the hill to the New parliament building and the Giant Flag Pole, it is very much an impressing and contemplative scene. … Continue reading
The Prodigal at Home
We all talk about the “Prodigal Son,” well that is the one who landed up in the pig pen, but seldom do we ever talk about the “Prodigal Son” who is at “Home.” One is “Lost” out there in the “World of Sin,” while the other is “Lost inside the Church.” The Parable of the 10 Bridesmaids challenges us that half of this unique “Church Group” found themselves not ready for “The Bridegroom” and were eternally lost and forever locked out of Eternity, oh how so very sad, just plainly, “Lost in the Church.”… Continue reading
