Greatly Advantaged 2/8
We are now quickly advancing through the back ground to, and the circumstances surrounding, the giving of this amazing Sermon, which helps us all to better understand, and then we will launch right on in.
Quote; “Gathering his disciples about him, Jesus bowed in their midst, and, laying his hands upon their heads, offered a prayer, dedicating them to his sacred work. Thus were the Lord’s disciples ordained to the gospel ministry? This being accomplished, Jesus with his companions returned to the sea-side, where the multitudes were already gathering to hear him. Many of… Continue reading
Greatly Advantaged 1/8
In the “Sermon on the Mount” it is basically a big list of “Blessed’s” or “Greatly Advantaged” for all who obey and follow them. I found this rendition in a very old book so I have reproduced it for us in an eight part series as I found the Authors writing style gives an extra depth and clarity, so here they are for you.
Quote;” The Redeemer of the world sought to make his lessons so simple that all could understand who heard them. It was not his choice to teach within walls… Continue reading
Repairer of the Breach
We are going to look at a point that is from way back in ancient times, for when a walled City or a Castle was to be conquered, the attackers first had to find a way inside, they firstly would look to see if they could find a weakness in the wall and to then batter their way through there, or to start to dig under the wall, to then prop the wall up with thick timbers, then to fill the dugout area with hay, thatching, bundles of sticks, and to then set fire to it,… Continue reading
Jesus Christ First
Here is something that a chap pointed out to me the other day at our Prayer Fellowship, and it is an interesting string of ideas and concepts, so what do you think about this concept? When we look into scripture we find this in Colossians 1:15 “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” Then we have this on in 1 Corinthians 15:20 “But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept.” And the final point in this trilogy is… Continue reading
Parakletos: Our Friend
Jesus Promised the Disciples; “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient that I go away: for if I don’t, go away, the Comforter (Greek: Parakletos) will not come unto you, but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” John 16:7 AKJV.
Facing difficult and stressful situations we always need someone alongside us. Someone who understands us and gives us that needed service, for without that service rendered on our behalf we wouldn’t be able to cope with life. We need a helper who can console us. We need a defence… Continue reading
God Phoned Me
Here is a story that I read years ago, in a great book, and it is only one of a huge collection of God’s intimate and miraculous caring for his children. This comes from a book called “Mega Shift” and it was written by James Rutz and this is miracle 135. On Page 54.
Quote; “It’s very motivating to know that God has your name … and not just “on file.” He also has your phone number. In 1990 I spoke to Ken Gaub, now 66, a pastor who was once on vacation in… Continue reading
Written in the Sand
Here is a deeper look into a well-known story from the Bible for us to ponder and to contemplate. Our story is found in the Book of John, John 8:2-11 “And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now… Continue reading
The Fig Tree
Here is something that the Holy Spirit has taught me and I trust that you will be blessed from this as well. It all comes from an event that transpired as Jesus was just a few days out from Calvary, and the tree probably grew on the other side of the Mount of Olives as Jesus had just left Bethany which is a village very close to Jerusalem and in the next valley, just up and over the Mount of Olives, when this event transpired.
Matthew 21:18-21 “Now in the morning as he returned into the… Continue reading
Separated at birth, adopted out, parted from biological family, moved far far away, life has now moved onwards in a new and comfortable environment, often far away from their city and country of birth, but the deep and quiet inner tugging’s, of those quiet inner callings of the almost unknown past were ever present and never far away. Where is my birth parents, does one actually have any brothers and sisters, and if so, then how many make up my biological family? Do they miss me as much as I miss a real relationship with them?… Continue reading
Come Out of Sin
I was watching a TV Program and it was the Testimony of a group of people who had individually left a sinful lifestyle, and how they were now progressing well, but the things that they were struggling with, is Temptation, which is what we all of us get bombarded with. We have this verse in Revelation, and it calls us “to come out” as found in Revelation 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive… Continue reading
