The painter sat quietly, patiently and intently; just studying “The Subject” looking carefully at every feature, then studying very carefully the feature that they were about to reproduce, looking at the colours, textures, tones, shadows and uniqueness. Then when they had it exactly impressed on their mind, the brush and paint were picked up, the correct brush selected, the mixing and blending of the paint to gather the exact toning, apply a little, step back and re-study the subject, adapt and try again, and then skilfully it was perfectly reproduced on the canvas.

Obedience and Oneness
“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.” Ephesians 5:2. Quote; “In all the fullness of His divinity, in all the glory of His spotless humanity, Christ gave Himself for us as a full and free sacrifice, and each one who comes to Him should accept Him as if he were the only one for whom the price had been paid. As in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive, for the obedient… Continue reading
Quote; “When the world is at last brought up for trial before the great white throne… what a reckoning will have to be made for nailing to the cross one who came to our world as a living epistle of the law. God will ask each one the question, What have you done with My only-begotten Son? What will those answer who have refused to accept the truth? They will be obliged to say, we hated Jesus, and cast Him out. We cried, Crucify Him, crucify Him. We chose Barabbas in His stead. If those to whom the… Continue reading
This is an interesting subject, which Paul uses quite often to try to describe a “Heavenly Concept” but we are all stuck with only “Earthly Concepts.” Romans Chapter 8 is well worth another read, and especially contemplating on this concept. Adoption is as old as the hills, and from ancient Hebrew, this is often how it played out in an Israelite Household. Say, a daughter, slave or servant girl finds herself pregnant out of wedlock. The child is born, and is brought before the head of the household, a decision is then made as to… Continue reading
There the house stood, buried in a dense forest of decades of neglect, there was a house somewhere in amongst the dense undergrowth, large trees, and even ivy grew up trees, and was crawling out through and under everything. Great trees grew up hard against the house, just missing the spouting, which had rotted and fallen off years ago, and then large limbs grew up, way up leaning over on the roof, drinking up the sunshine and trying to get away from the dense undergrowth around, and hiding even more the house in a sea of green mature… Continue reading
Here is a term that sort of has a connotation to “The Bad ole Wild West,” when you expect something untoward was about to happen, and often did. We can at times dread the arrival of something, and it is often worse in thought than in reality. Ephesians 4:23-27 “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. … Continue reading
There she was, busily trying to get some important computer work done just before all the family drifted back in for food and care, the phone rang, and the nice polite man on the line compassionately advised her that there were people trying to hack into her Computer. The very polite man declared that his name was “XXX” from Microsoft, and that we have recognised your computer is very sluggish on line and will only get worse over time …but a simple fix to speed up your browsing speed that normally cost between 100 – 200 dollars… … Continue reading
Love-it or Leave-it
It has been said once, that; “Eve was the Mother of Mankind – or the Betrayer of Mankind.” It sounds a bit harsh, but there is a whole lot of reality hidden within the concept, but how goes it with you and I, are we a little bit selfish and controlling, quick with the tongue to oppress others with a “Lecture” or some other juicy morsel and embellished “Gossip” or does our “Christianity” and Compassion flow strongly through, with love and compassion, care about our Fellow-Man by “Walking the Walk and in Talking the Talk?”… Continue reading
We have this old story in Jonah 4:1-11 “But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, [was] not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou [art] a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. Therefore now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for [it is] better for me to die than to live.… Continue reading
What can I get?
In our daily lives, we are constantly barraged by two conflicting extremes of emotions, “What can I get?” and “What can I give?” We so often live in “What’s in it for me?” When we look at “the lust of the Flesh,” it is all about “What’s in it for me?” and “What can I get?” “What can I possess?” as it is all about our Flesh and being a “Consumer” as everything that I can get hold of is all for “Me.” We so often are all about beating others down, by words,… Continue reading
