The Reunion
Separated at birth, adopted out, parted from biological family, moved far far away, life has now moved onwards in a new and comfortable environment, often far away from their city and country of birth, but the deep and quiet inner tugging’s, of those quiet inner callings of the almost unknown past were ever present and never far away. Where is my birth parents, does one actually have any brothers and sisters, and if so, then how many make up my biological family? Do they miss me as much as I miss a real relationship with them? Questions that are always close under the surface that bubble up to wonderings at each and every birthday, Christmas and New Year, where are they and are they happy and well.
What is it like, my biological family, how much do they look like me? Where did I get my eyes, ears, nose, hair/or lack of it, and everything from? Do they have my wonderful sense of humour? Do they laugh just like I do? The callings are always there, but are they actually longing for me, but do they even know that I exist and are they even looking for me, I long for them, but have no idea as to where they are and how do I get from here to over there? Always quiet questions and a permanent longing of the heart for something much more than what is currently being experienced.
Isaiah has this to say in Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.” The Parable of the Rich man and Lazarus also points to an impassable gulf between heaven and earth, we are separated from our Heavenly Father and family, the longing is there but the connection is broken and they are separated far from each other.
Revelation 7:17 “For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
God has this same longing for us, hence he is our “Heavenly Father,” our heavenly family, but he has an advantage over us, in that he lives at our “Heavenly Home” and it is all very familiar to him, it is we who have moved far away, we have got lost in a maze of sin and deception, and so; “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God,” so we have God’s love letter to us, “The Bible” to tell us as to what “Home” is really like and that our real family is doing all they can to get us back home. There is a huge “Welcome Home Party” awaiting us, we just need to come on home.
We have this as found in Revelation 19:8-9 “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God.” God declares his love and devotion to us, John 3:16, and his commitment to us, but how is our commitment to; “Come on Home, the home fire is burning and the welcome banner and the huge feast is on the table?” So where are you?
We have the Parable of “The Prodigals” and at the last one, “The Prodigal Son” has a very “Spiritual Voice,” in which “Our Heavenly Father” is constantly standing down the highway, searching the horizon for us and calling out our names, beckoning is to “Come Home,” to leave sin behind, and to “Come out of the Pig Pen” that we live in, to wake up and to survey the mess we are currently living in, to get homesick, to realize that this is not “Home” and we do not really belong here, we might fit in somehow, but deep deep down, we are not quite fitting in, there is somehow always something missing.
There is still another dimension missing, there must be somebody out there just exactly like me, and that I know deep down, I will at last be back home, I will obviously belong there, and so soon that great deep longing and desire will be a living reality when Jesus Christ soon comes back, he then resurrects his dead/sleeping kids, translates the living kids, and off we all go together, all of God’s Kids, his long estranged family, and we are “going home” back to the place we should have been all along, well until Satan somehow got us to live with him, it was sort of OK down here, but there was always that eternal longing for our real home. A place where we really belong, where we are most compatible, where everybody will just feel like we had always been together, where we all think and act and are so compatible, we just never want to be parted, ever, and for all Eternity, guess what, we never ever will be parted.
Dear Reader; why not read your Bible, talk to God in prayer all the time, and you will quickly find that the missing place in your heart and life will be instantly filled. Get together with others of God’s Kids, your real Family. Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” God’s Kids, are always God’s Kids, and always feel at home together, longing til we really “Get Home.”
