The Influencer
With so many people posting “Selfies” on so many and various Social Media Platforms, companies and advertisers are very keen to get their toe in on this lucrative market, so they do it very sneakily. What they do is to get very glamorous young people, hair perfect in the style they want to portray, clothes of the fashion that they want to get promoted, so they take these “Models” and prepare them well, then release them out onto the “Night Scene” to get into the Clubs and gathering places, to get seen as much as possible, and especially make sure that you are well seen in every photo shot possible, photobombing yourself into every place possible, politely of course, and nicely as well, as you are there to influence them to buy the clothes you wear, makeup, hair style, whatever you are there to impress and to influence on them, you are an influencer.
The result is this, as the people look at themselves in the picture, and then their friends, attention is next drawn to this very pleasant stranger there with them that was so much fun to be with, they even bought them a couple of drinks, but hey, look at that amazing suit of clothes. The shirts, tops, dresses, skirts, jackets, pants are all clearly seen, and then their desire starts for those products, and the very next time they are in the shops, they once more see that which was in the picture and they are impressed to buy, all because of “The Influencer,” and that is an ongoing success process, and it has been used for decades under various forms, but is now perfected very well, thanks to Social Media.
People purport and claim to be “Christians,” but how good an “Influencer” are they, or do they do the very opposite and to repel, reject and put you off from ever joining up. Are we an Influencer for Good or for Evil, every day of every week, so what Influence are we presenting, and if we could step out of ourselves and observe our daily activities, or mayhem, would we be pleased and proud or absolutely mortified at the results and continual damage spread by us far and wide, so what are you Influencing people into becoming? Are you a good or a bad Influencer?
Quote; “Said Christ, “I sanctify Myself that they also may be sanctified.” This you need candidly to consider. What influence are you exerting in your home and in the business transactions in connection with His work and cause? I must tell you, your heart is not in the work. Your Christian life should sanctify the whole. It should pervade every branch of human action from the first to the last, from the highest to the lowest. “Whether . . . ye eat, or drink” (1 Corinthians 10:31), or “whatsoever ye do in word, or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17). {20MR 288} Quote; “We would ask every man and woman, on which side is your influence? Are you working where God is working, or are you working with the enemy? Says Christ, “He that is not with me, is against me, and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth abroad.” Matthew 12:30; {1888 424}
Quote; “One well-ordered, well-disciplined family tells more in behalf of Christianity than all the sermons that can be preached. Such a family gives evidence that the parents have been successful in following God’s directions, and that their children will serve Him in the church. Their influence grows; for as they impart, they receive to impart again. The father and mother find helpers in their children, who give to others the instruction received in the home. The neighborhood in which they live is helped, for in it they have become enriched for time and for eternity. The whole family is engaged in the service of the Master; and by their godly example, others are inspired to be faithful and true to God in dealing with His flock, His beautiful flock.” {AH 32} Quote; “We need to keep ever before us this vision of things unseen. It is thus that we shall be able to set a right value on the things of eternity and the things of time. It is this that will give us power to influence others for the higher life.” {CG 568} Quote; “The sphere of the mother may be humble; but her influence, united with the father’s, is as abiding as eternity. Next to God, the mother’s power for good is the strongest known on earth.” {CCh 144}
From the last quote, “Next to God, the mother’s power for good is the strongest known on earth.” If a mother’s power for good is this strong, what happens when it is used for evil? As an “Influencer,” what are you influencing those you come in contact with to become? In Matthew 12:30 Jesus said; “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not together with me scattereth abroad.” We can so easily become a “Deceiver,” and not a “Deliverer.” You are an “Influencer,” but of what actually, and what is the ultimate end of your influencing? Do you need to change a few things, or do you and I need a complete transformation and a “new Birth?”
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 “Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” If we are reconciled to God, we should be living like God, we should be a proactive and positive “Influencer,” for in every facet of our lives, we are either all for God or absolutely none of his at all, we are either Sheep-Goats, Wheat-Tares, Saved-Lost, we cannot live on both sides of the Fence, you either gather in with Christ or we scatter abroad, so what kind of “Ambassador,” and “Influencer” are we really? A Shampoo Advertising campaign had this slogan; “Two Friends, who tell Two Friends, who tell Two Friends.” So are you and I creating more “Influencers” and releasing them to influence even more? Let us Influence many and “make more Disciples.”
