What happens when you Sin?
Here is something we oft wish to ignore and to oft distance ourselves from, but let us jump right on in and explore what the Bible has to say on this subject. Ezekiel 3:20-21 “Again, When a righteous [man] doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous [man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.” Ezekiel 18:26-28 “When a righteous [man] turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Again, when the wicked [man] turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.” Ezekiel 33:13-17 “When I shall say to the righteous, [that] he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; [If] the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. Yet the children of thy people say, the way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.”
1 Timothy 1:8-11 “But we know that the law [is] good, if a man use it lawfully; knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”
Nehemiah 13:14 “Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof.” Genesis 6:5-6 “And God saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” Isaiah 65:17-19 “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice forever [in that] which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.”
From what we have discovered in these verses, a change in lifestyle means that you have just wiped clean one of your slates, if a righteous person repents and becomes a sinner, then their past righteous acts are all wiped away, never to be found. On the other hand when a sinner repents, now all their wickedness is instantly wiped away, never to be found. This leaves them with no records of their opposite past life and deeds, whether they be Good or Evil, just blank pages, and yet they still have an ongoing choice as to which page gets new deeds recorded upon them, and which pages forever remain blanks. From our understanding of Scripture, if our righteous man who turned back to sinning, then repented of this silly new sinful life, they then came humbly and repentantly back to God, they still have now just blank pages from their past Righteous life having been erased, as their sinning just wiped them all out, all their “Good Deeds” are still gone, and now their “Repentance” has just wiped out all their sinfulness right away, leaving just blank pages in both record books. Now if he/she then immediately died just like the thief on the cross, then on Resurrection day, they will rise to meet the Lord in the air, along with the other resurrected, and then they can turn and watch the Translated join them in the clouds, as we which are alive and remain join up, and we all group together to go to Heaven with Jesus. So he/she has Eternal Life assured, sinful life, well that is just blank pages so they just must have to have always been Righteous and Perfect and Holy, Lawful and Right so they instantly receive the rewards for a righteous life lived, which is Eternal Life, well now as there is only blank pages for Good Deeds, so this then means that their Judgement Assessment of their life, when all summed up, this therefore means no pay-packet or rewards, just life eternal and an empty Bank-Account in Heaven. Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold, his soul [which] is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.”
So in our lives, which pages in “God’s Record Book” are being filled with all our current thoughts, notes, deeds and actions? Are we filling up the “Good Records” or the sinful and degrading ones, then which book finally gets its records erased, and which book keeps its record in Judgement against you, whether for Good or Evil? Will you in Eternity lose your “Righteousness” or your “Sinfulness?” Time to make any adjustments right now. Revelation 3:5 “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will “NOT” blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.” Revelation 20:11-15 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 21:27 “And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Choices, Choices, Oh which way will we choose?
