The Salesman
There are some interesting concepts to this subject, which when you put a ‘Spiritual Spin’ upon it, then God does actually own and runs the whole “Universal Corporation,” the whole Universe and everything in between, therefore we just work for him as “The Salesman.” So many people in their ‘Prayer Life’ make great lists of what God is to hurry up and to perform, and by the way, it needs to be done pronto, actually last week in fact, but who works for whom, God is the ‘Owner Operator,’ we are just the hired employees, we are ‘The Salesmen,’ we work for God, and God is not accountable to us, we cannot rant and rave and demand, for God is our employer, our chief and boss.
Numbers 20:7-11 “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts [also].” Moses and Aaron stated, “Must we fetch you water,” not their authority and not their role, they are just “The Salesman,” they were to ‘Speak,’ to ask, to command, and not to ‘Strike,’ so God took their office and rewards away, they immediately got ‘The sack,’ Deuteronomy 32:51-52 “Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel. Yet thou shalt see the land before [thee]; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.” We work for God, we are his children, we are his employees, we work for God, God does not work for us, we cannot boss him around and demand, yell and scream, God is the Owner Operator of the Corporation, he is the ‘Head Honcho’ the chief ruler and Creator of heaven and earth and everything that is contained within, both visible and invisible everything is included.
Colossians 1:12-18 “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins: who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: and he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the preeminence.”
Isaiah 55:1 “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” John 3:30 “He must increase, but I [must] decrease.” Matthew 7:11 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” Luke 11:13 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” 1 Chronicles 17:20-22 “O LORD, [there is] none like thee, neither [is there any] God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. And what one nation in the earth [is] like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem [to be] his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt? For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God.” A “Salesman” not only sells, promotes, providing benefits to the buyer/consumer, they also seriously represent the “Company,” the “Firm,” even the “Owner-Operator,” but then we are all “God’s Kids,” whether we serve him or that other fella of sin and degradation, many say that they are “God’s Kids,” but really and seriously, how well do they promote God, review what they do and say and think, do they really represent God to those around them? A ‘Pillar of a community’ was once complimented as to his being such a great “Christian,” to which he replied, ‘If you really want to know how good a Christian I am, then you had best go and ask my neighbour’s that question.’ Judgement day is almost here, and we all must give account for the deeds that we have done in the flesh, and also how well we have been a “Salesman,” have we rescued the perishing, cared for the dying, Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save. Matthew 25:21 “His lord said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:30-32 “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: and before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth [his] sheep from the goats:” In Conclusion; when all has been said and done, when all has been assessed and scrutinized, checked and audited, weighed up and verified, as “The Salesman,” then how effective for God were you actually at the end??
