Golden Oil
Zechariah 4:11-14 “Then answered I, and said unto him, what [are] these two olive trees upon the right [side] of the candlestick and upon the left [side] thereof? And I answered again, and said unto him, what [be these] two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden [oil] out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these [be]? And I said, No, my lord. Then said he, these [are] the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.” Quote; “The Spirit was to be given as a regenerating agent, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail. The power of evil had been strengthening for centuries, and the submission of men to this satanic captivity was amazing. Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the Third Person of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy, but in the fullness of divine power. It is the Spirit that makes effectual what has been wrought out by the world’s Redeemer. It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given His Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress His own character upon His church… The very image of God is to be reproduced in humanity. The honor of God, the honor of Christ, is involved in the perfection of the character of His people.” {DA 671} Quote; “But those who do not cultivate the spirit and habit of prayer cannot expect to receive the golden oil of goodness, patience, long-suffering, gentleness, love. {TM 511}
Galatians 5:22-25 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” So, an active ‘Christian’ lives in harmony with ‘Gods Glory’ which is also ‘God’s Character’ which means you measure up, thus we become very well oiled up, to never be desperately needing a change in thinking, and a change in direction, or desperately needing a complete, “Oil Change.”
Quote; “A character formed according to the divine likeness is the only treasure that we can take from this world to the next. Those who are under the instruction of Christ in this world will take every divine attainment with them to the heavenly mansions. And in heaven we are continually to improve. How important, then, is the development of character in this life.” {COL 332} Revelation 3:18-19 “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness [or faulty Character] do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”
God is Faithful, he is the rewarder of all those who diligently seek him, Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Romans 10:17 “So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” If God is faithful to forgive our sins, then God is also very faithful in every other aspect as well. Luke 11:13 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” We must never become lacking the ‘Golden Oil’ of the Holy Spirit, which always leads to developing and growing righteous and Godly Character, for it is an abundantly free gift from God to us his kids.
Quote; “Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads–it is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot be moved–just as soon as God’s people are sealed and prepared for the shaking, it will come. Indeed, it has begun already; the judgments of God are now upon the land, . . . that we may know what is coming.” {FLB 287} So ‘Sin’ is to come short of ‘Gods Glory’ which is also to come short of ‘God’s Character, by ones coming short, just lacking in ‘Glory’ and ‘lacking in ‘Character,’ seriously lacking ‘Golden Oil,’ by not clearly representing God, we just need to be a ‘Well Oiled Machine.’
Quote; “Satan is now seeking to hold God’s people in a state of inactivity, to keep them from acting their part in spreading the truth, that they may at last be weighed in the balance and found wanting.” {1T 260} John 10:30 “I and [my] Father are one.” Just as Jesus has a physical and solid body, so does our Heavenly Father, and the Holy Spirit also has a physical and solid body, not some mythical force, some ghostly fog being, Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all real, tangible, and solid, and when sin is forever removed, and we are standing before the Throne, we can give them a big long compassionate hug of thanks and gratitude. Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” The ‘Foolish’ were locked out as they were naked, not clothed in ‘Glory,’ they failed to live up to the standards of God Character, their ‘Characters’ were faulty, they failed to avail themselves of the abundantly available “Golden Oil,” they needed to repent, and to live godly lives, in harmony with scripture, in harmony with Heaven, to form a godly character, but will you also end up being ‘Locked Out,’ or being gladly ‘Welcomed Home?’
Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Luke 10:27 “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” Quote; “At the call, “The Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him,” the waiting ones “arose and trimmed their lamps;” they studied the word of God with an intensity of interest before unknown. Angels were sent from heaven to arouse those who had become discouraged and to prepare them to receive the message. The work did not stand in the wisdom and learning of men, but in the power of God.” {GC 402}
The ‘Golden Oil,’ is predominantly jointed to the ‘Holy Spirit,’ but the ‘Holy Spirit’ has a deeper function, John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.” John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Psalm 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Thus the ‘Golden Oil’ of the Holy Spirit will bring us into ‘All Truth,’ Jesus is ‘Truth,’ but Scripture is also ‘Truth,’ so if we hide Scripture in our hearts, sin cannot get a hold of us and sway us, as we are one with Jesus. John 17:21 “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” Jesus is ‘The Word of God,’ one with ‘The Father,’ then when we have the ‘Golden Oil,’ we come into ‘All Truth,’ are being scripture led, we are one with Jesus Christ, one with God our Father, and live ‘In the image of God,’ well oiled. Quote; “But those who do not cultivate the spirit and habit of prayer cannot expect to receive the golden oil of goodness, patience, long-suffering, gentleness, love. {TM 511} How much “Golden Oil” do you have stored up, and are consuming daily, and also re-stocking daily??
