See you on the big one.
Our Title comes from a common saying, a word or phrase in friendship, spoken in departure, taken from our ‘Fire Service,’ from Firemen, a parting, an anticipation of once more being back together, to be working together side by side, “See you on the big one,” meaning that you are to please stay safe, and we will meet again, for us to once more work side by side, for when there is a huge inferno, and it is ‘all hands to the pump,’ firemen and engines will be there from far and wide, together we will work tirelessly side by side on, “The Big One.” Vera Lynn had this famous song, Quote; “We’ll meet again, Don’t know where, Don’t know when, But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day, keep smiling through, just like you always do, ’till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.”
Romans 13:11-12 “And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now, [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” Quote; “The angels of God in their messages to men represent time as very short. [See Romans 13:11, 12; 1 Corinthians 7:29; 1 Thessalonians 4:15, 17; Hebrews 10:25; James 5:8, 9; 1 Peter 4:7; Revelation 22:6, 7.] Thus, it has always been presented to me. It is true that time has continued longer than we expected in the early days of this message. Our Saviour did not appear as soon as we hoped. But has the Word of the Lord failed? Never! It should be remembered that the promises and threatenings of God are alike conditional. [See Jeremiah 18:7-10; Jonah 3:4-10.] We may have to remain here in this world because of insubordination many more years, as did the children of Israel, but for Christ’s sake His people should not add sin to sin by charging God with the consequence of their own wrong course of action). {LDE 39}
Quote; “The end is near, stealing upon us stealthily, imperceptibly, like the noiseless approach of a thief in the night. May the Lord grant that we shall no longer sleep as do others, but that we shall watch and be sober. The truth is soon to triumph gloriously, and all who now choose to be labourers together with God, will triumph with it. The time is short; the night soon cometh when no man can work. The time is coming when there will be as many converted in a day as there were on the day of Pentecost, after the disciples had received the Holy Spirit. {Mar 27} Are you, “In Christ,” with “Christ in you the hope of Glory,” are you training fit, healthy and well, the “Big One,” is about to break out upon us, Jesus is about to step into the theatre of man, shutting everything down, and time shall be no more, will you still be in ‘active service,’ when it is ‘all hands to the pump,’ rescuing the perishing caring for the dying, will you be still on ‘active duty,’ or when the ‘Big One,’ breaks out upon us, will the cares of this life have overcome you, caused you to lose your eternal life, or will you be there; “See you on the Big One.”
The “Big One,” is almost upon us, the end of all things is nigh, are you ready, or are you napping, ‘Seated on the Premises, or Walking in the Promises?’ Quote; “The commission given to the disciples is also given to us. Today, as then, a crucified and risen Saviour is to be uplifted before those who are without God and without hope in the world. The Lord calls for pastors, teachers, and evangelists. From door to door His servants are to proclaim the message of salvation. To every nation, kindred, tongue, and people the tidings of pardon through Christ are to be carried. Not with tame, lifeless utterances is the message to be given, but with clear, decided, stirring utterances. Hundreds are waiting for the warning to escape for their lives. The world needs to see in Christians an evidence of the power of Christianity. Not merely in a few places, but throughout the world, messages of mercy are needed. {GW 29}
Matthew 9:38 “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2 “Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” 2 Peter 3:11 “[Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness.” Here are the words for an old Hymn; “Work, for the night is coming, Under the sunset skies; While their bright tints are glowing, Work, for daylight flies. Work till the last beam fadeth, Fadeth to shine no more; Work, while the night is darkening, When man’s work is o’er.” Micah 1:3-4 “For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth. And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, [and] as the waters [that are] poured down a steep place.” 2 Peter 3:12 “Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” We live in a world, that has passed ‘It’s used by date,’ it is sick and sore, it is failing, the rot of sin has all but killed off this Planet, and taken nearly all of its inhabitants captive into Satan’s Kingdom, but who is left to stand guard, who is left to be a watchman on the walls of Zion, who will raise the alarm, when “The Big One” breaks forth? Jesus’ return is getting much more like ‘Days Away,’ rather than far away, for it is nearer now than when we first believed, then will you still be on active duty, still standing at your post, will we meet again? “See you on the Big One.”
