The Farmer who lost his Eternal Life
And Jesus spoke another parable, Luke 12:16-21 “And he spake a parable unto them, saying, the ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: and he thought within himself, saying, what shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, this will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, [and] be merry. But God said unto him, [Thou] fool, this [very] night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So [is] he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
What if you were actually right now, this very “Farmer,” and tonight was your very last few hours of life on earth, what would you change right now? Have you thus far in your living formed a “Character” that is compatible and in harmony with Heaven, or would the purity and joy up there be only a perpetual torment to you? What if you knew that you had but a few hours to live from now, what relationships would you heal and set right again? What sins and failings would you confess and forsake? What of your past actions would you choose to repent over, to forever forsake, and from this point onwards to never go back there again? What would you change? So why not, when there is still some breath within you, go back in your life, repent and repair, and then set a Heavenly Course, a new direction to living, one that will bring you back into Harmony with the purity of Heaven, and Heavenly Principles, and then onwards throughout eternity; where you will forever be bounteous in Peace, Harmony, Joy and oneness with Heavenly Life, forever.
Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Quote; “No scheme of business, or plan of life, can be sound or complete, that embraces only the [few] brief years of this present life, and makes no provision for the unending future. Let all be taught to take eternity into their reckoning. Let them be taught to choose the principles and seek the possessions that are enduring– to lay up for themselves that “treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.” Luke 12:33; 16:9, R.V. All who do this are making the best possible preparation for life in this world. No man can lay up treasure in heaven without finding his life on earth thereby enriched and ennobled. “Godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8.” {CS 347}
1 Corinthians 3:9-17 “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, [ye are] God’s building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.”
Question; “If today was the very last day of your life, would you need to change anything?” So are you right now all ready, to meet your “Maker” and face the rewards, both your rewards for righteousness and your rewards for your wickedness, for all your past varied thoughts, deeds and actions? Then what is going to be the “Final Verdict” over your Soul, it is only going to be either “Life” or “Death,” and that is everlasting and eternal? 2 Peter 3:10-14 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” Mark 8:36-37 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” And Jesus told another Parable, so what is the Parable of your life going to read like, would you wish to tear out a chapter or two, re-write a few sections, or maybe tear out the “Ending” and re-write it totally differently? Why not then make an active plan to set things right, rub out the mistakes of the past, Jesus is so willing with the Holy Spirit, to make all things new, old things passed away, so let us then re-write now before our life goes “to Print” and then it cannot ever be changed. So what would the “Parable of your life” read like? Would you like it publically read, or turned into a Movie with all the intimate details of your faults, failings and victories? “In Christ” you can re-write and make all things new, start afresh and “Brand New,” right now then.
