Sin’s Delusion
“Sometimes the Devil allows people to live a life free of troubles, but he doesn’t want them turning to God. His sin is like a Jail Cell, except it’s so nice and comfy, and there doesn’t seem to be any need to leave. The door is wide open, then one day time runs out, the cell door slams shut and suddenly it’s too late.” From DVD; “God’s Not Dead” – Mum Speech.
The Bible addresses this question in many places, but I like this one found in Jeremiah 12:1 “Righteous [art] thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of [thy] judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? [wherefore] are all they happy that deal very treacherously?” So often the wicked appear to prosper, but it is a very temporary delusion, as it lasts for only a very short time, we the redeemed have time without end in a way better environment than what we now live in here, in this sin ravaged planet earth, just wait until it has a complete “Make Over,” and a brand new Government with Jesus as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. So what does the Bible say about the wicked and the sinner?
Romans 6:22-23 “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Numbers 32:23 “But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.” 2 Corinthians 9:6 “But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Remember, the crop you get from sowing seed is so vastly greater than that which was originally planted from a wee bag of seed; and it does not appear from scripture that there ever was or is ever to be a “Crop Failure.” The prophets only wrote things that appear to tell us that the only way to correct this wrongly planted field of wrong seed, which is now growing a wrong crop, is to repent, plough under the bad crop, and then to start all over again by planting good seed for a good crop and this is obviously displayed to all who pass by. In other places, it appears that some people have planted no seed at all in their lives, so again the prophets request that we have a “breaking up of the fallow ground,” concept of getting rid of the weeds of neglect, get out the plough and plant a crop of distinction. In times past “The Gospel Plough,” was a term used and with it was the concept we are playing with, that as we have the Gospel coming in, we have a completely new view of things, we see the failures in our lives, the wrong seed making a wrong crop for all to see.
Now the Gospel Plough comes into the field of the individual’s life, the old failures are ploughed deep under the soil and are out of sight, gone; new growth appears from the new Good Seed of the Gospel that has been planted in the life of the person, a new and wonderful good life appears from out of the field of their life, so there is a complete transformation, where once was a nasty crop of the Tares of sin for all to see; now there is displayed for all to see a fantastic healthy crop of the wheat of salvation, so soon to be garnered into the silo’s of heaven as a treasured crop. And then comes the eternal reward paid to the person for the crop grown in their life.
Yes, we do have a story of Wheat and Tares, but when looked at it on an individual basis, the person growing a crop of tares or sin in their lives are removed, or plucked out and duly processed or removed, (not good for them), so this just leaves a field of Wheat People to be translated or transferred to Heaven when Jesus so soon comes back to harvest this old world. Wise-Foolish, Wheat-Tares, Sheep-Goats and so forth, are all in farming concepts. We humans are put through the drafting race to be judged and sorted, or with croppers, Angels walk the field first removing the Tares, thorns and thistles, so that they can make a proper hay crop, free from weeds which could sprout up in a new field, if not removed beforehand, when the hay gets spread out.
Quote; “In the City of God “there shall be no night.” None will need or desire repose. There will be no weariness in doing the will of God and offering praise to His name. We shall ever feel the freshness of the morning and shall ever be far from its close. . . . All the treasures of the universe will be open to the study of God’s redeemed. Unfettered by mortality, they wing their tireless flight to worlds afar—worlds that thrilled with sorrow at the spectacle of human woe and rang with songs of gladness at the tidings of a ransomed soul. . . .
The great controversy is ended. Sin and sinners are no more. The entire universe is clean. One pulse of harmony and gladness beats through the vast creation. From Him who created all flow life and light and gladness throughout the realms of illimitable space. From the minutest atom to the greatest world, all things, animate and inanimate, in their unshadowed beauty and perfect joy, declare that God is love.” {GC 673-678}
