Singular Duplicity
Here is some fun, some mental gymnastics, to play along with, just to rejoice in the Lord. Let us lay this immutable fact out firstly, “God loves me,” no “God loves me and only me, I am the only one he loves, I am the apple of his eye, he cannot ever take his eyes of love off of me.” Sort of sounds a wee bit selfish, but “God Loves Me,” is an immutable fact, even if I don’t even like him. This is the “Singular,” but if everybody on earth yelled out, “God loves only me,” then they are all absolutely correct, “God loves only me.” Here is the “Duplicity,” God loves only me, and yes you can say it as well, we can both say it together, and we are both absolutely correct, that is the amazing “Singular Duplicity,” it is almost too wide to comprehend, but it is true. Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Revelation 13:8 [Adapted] “And all that dwell upon the New Earth shall worship Jesus, for their names are written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
The point is, if you were the only person in the universe to ever sin, Jesus would still have gone to Calvary for you, and just only you, just in case one day you just might stop long enough to quit fighting God, and in repentance come back to him. Let us paint this picture. You throw a king-sized tantrum, yelling kicking, arms flailing everywhere, Jesus tenderly scoops you up into his loving arms, and you are just a ball of fury, Jesus draws you near, whispering his love into your ears, slowly the kicking stops, you start to relax, the fists turn into arms which wrap around Jesus’ neck, you snuggle in close, Jesus draws you in, you burry your sobbing face into his neck, holding him close, his head tilts over cuddling you into his shoulder. You start to relax even more as his love flows through you, and he then sits, plops you on his knee, lovingly looks into your tear-stained face, gently brushes back that wayward lock of hair, and kisses your forehead. Next, he pivots you about and cradles you in his loving arms, your head upon his chest, that strongly beating heart of compassion thundering in your ear, and you snuggle deeper in. Next you hear many feet shuffling and drawing near, as the Angels gather about beaming in love and compassion. Next, they seem to part as the firm sound of heavy footsteps draw near, you snuggle in even deeper, God stands next to his son, beaming love and adoration, God then gently places his hand of approval upon Jesus’ shoulder, in loving approval, beaming his love and compassion and adoration upon you both, he then turns and slips away, and you hear the Angles quickly gathering back around you, smiling and loving you, as you cling closer to Jesus. “God loves me; and only me.”
Jesus Wife, his Bride, one with him but many parts, “Singular Duplicity.” Body is a “Temple,” made up of many parts, but one building, one place of honour to God, one Temple, and again we have “Singular Duplicity.”
Matthew 19:6 “Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder,” “Singular Duplicity.”
1 Corinthians 6:19 “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” “Singular Duplicity.”
2 Corinthians 6:16 “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” “Singular Duplicity.”
Revelation 3:12 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] New Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name.” “Singular Duplicity.”
1 Corinthians 12:11-31 “But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body [were] an eye, where [were] the hearing? If the whole [were] hearing, where [were] the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where [were] the body? But now [are they] many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those [members] of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness. For our comely [parts] have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that [part] which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.” Next comes 1st Corinthians Chapter 13, the “Great Love Chapter.”
Revelation 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” “Singular Duplicity.” Why not accept the call, quit fighting against God and then fully experience for yourself “Singular Duplicity.”
