Unconditional Love
Here we try to fathom, Romans 8:39 “Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people FROM their sins.” Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Luke 21:36 “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”
“Do you know, Oh Christian you’re a Sermon in shoes.” As you are most likely the only Bible that most people you meet will ever get to read, you are the only concept of God that they will ever view,” so how well do we represent Heaven, are we showing “Unconditional Love?” Matthew 22:37-39 “Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Quote; “Joshua appealed to the people themselves as witnesses that, so far as they had complied with the conditions, God had faithfully fulfilled His promises to them. . . Satan deceives many with the plausible theory that since God’s love for His people is so great, He will excuse sin in them; that while the threatenings of God’s Word are to serve a certain purpose in His moral government, they are never to be literally fulfilled. But in His dealings with His creatures, God has maintained the principles of righteousness by revealing sin in its true character—by demonstrating that its sure result is misery and death. The unconditional pardon of sin never has been and never will be. Such pardon would show the abandonment of the principles of righteousness that are the very foundation of the government of God. God has faithfully pointed out the results of sin, and if these warnings are not true, how can we be sure that His promises will be fulfilled? That so-called benevolence, which would set aside justice, is not benevolence, but weakness. After presenting the goodness of God toward Israel, Joshua called upon the people, in the name of Jehovah, to choose whom they would serve. Joshua desired to lead them to serve God, not by compulsion, but willingly. Love to God is the very foundation of religion. To engage in His service merely from the hope of reward or the fear of punishment would avail nothing. Open apostasy would not be more offensive to God than hypocrisy and mere formal worship. {CTr 139}
John 14:14-15 “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it]. If ye love me, keep my commandments.” God’s “Unconditional Love,” is based on your “Unconditional commitment and devotion to God,” your full and complete unconditional surrender, and your unconditional consecration to God. Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” What you sow – you grow. Isaiah 59:1-2 “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.” To “Hear God’s Voice,” is to be hearing his calling for Repentance and Obedience, for there is no such thing as “Cheap Grace,” salvation cost Jesus his life, and failing to repent will cost you your life, both in this world and in the next. Quote; “It is through the truth, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that we are to be sanctified–transformed into the likeness of Christ. And in order for this change to be wrought in us, there must be an unconditional, wholehearted acceptance of the truth, an unreserved surrender of the soul to its transforming power.” {OHC 212}
Quote; “There is no such thing in the Word of God as unconditional election– once in grace, always in grace. In the second chapter of Second Peter the subject is made plain and distinct. After a history of some who followed an evil course, the explanation is given: “which have forsaken the right way, . . . following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.” [2 Peter 2:15-20 quoted.] Here is a class of whom the apostle warns, “For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.” {6BC 1114} Matthew 18:22 “Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” If you will not forgive others, then God will not forgive you. Matthew 6:14-15 “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:12 “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” Matthew 10:32-33 “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” Revelation 13:8 [Adapted] “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” John 8:58 “Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” Jesus’ love is very great, very wide and very deep, but to reject his love, will place one on very dangerous ground, outside the wall of protection, out where Satan is prowling, seeking whom he may devour. Our only safety is inside the “City of Refuge” inside his love and grace, scripturally sound, and actively daily living and obedient, only then can we soak in “Unconditional Love,” because we love God, Unconditionally.
