One with God
So much could be said on this subject, so let’s see what we can understand on this subject. Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.” So sin and its consequence, Iniquity, has separated us from our God, thus we no longer become, “One with God.” 1 Samuel 15:22-23a “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry.” So what is this rebellion of sin? 1 John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” But is there still more? Quote; “It is impossible to explain the origin of sin so as to give a reason for its existence. Yet enough may be understood concerning both the origin and the final disposition of sin to make fully manifest the justice and benevolence of God in all His dealings with evil. Nothing is more plainly taught in Scripture than that God was in no wise responsible for the entrance of sin; that there was no arbitrary withdrawal of divine grace, no deficiency in the divine government, that gave occasion for the uprising of rebellion. Sin is an intruder, for whose presence no reason can be given. It is mysterious, unaccountable; to excuse it is to defend it. Could excuse for it be found, or cause be shown for its existence, it would cease to be sin. Our only definition of sin is that given in the word of God; it is “the transgression of the law;” it is the outworking of a principle at war with the great law of love which is the foundation of the divine government. {GC 492}
Exodus 25:8 “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.” With the Holy Spirit and God dwelling within, then you have fully achieved, “One with God.” But to reject God, to be separated from him, then one has fallen short of the Glory of God. Now just before Jesus went to Calvary, he was at Gethsemane and Gethsemane is a place of olives, a place of an “Olive Press,” a place to squeeze olives until the oil floods out. Now often in scripture, there is a close connection between pure olive oil and the spirit of the living God, or the “Holy Spirit,” so Jesus in this typology had the Holy Spirit squeezed out of him, leaving behind the barren pith of human flesh, no God, no life, so death on Calvary is so easy in this depleted state. So, are you “One with God,” filled with the pure olive oil of the Holy Spirit, and representing him, or not?
Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.” The humorist once said, “To Know God is to Know God, But No God is to have No God.” It is much safer, and rewarding in this life and especially in the life to come, to be always “One with God.” To be “One with God,” is to have a close relationship with God moment by moment and day by day. Being “One with God,” is likened to a “Marriage,” a proper one that is, working as one, seeking the others best, seeking, serving, being your very best and doing your very best, never; Me, My and I. John 4:34 “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” To be “One with God is to be working with and for God, for often we find in Jesus’ Parables, the concept is often depicted as a master and purchased slave, one is of extremely high value, yet the other is of no value at all, so do we “Work for God,” or do we expect God to “Rush about working for us and to carry out our every wish and command?” We need to be working for God, in harmony with his Kingdom, “One with God,” for to become out of step with God’s Kingdom, usually means being cast into outer darkness to wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 12:30 “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.” To be “One with God,” we need to be working with him on the same thing that he is working on, our salvation, and those close by. Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” “One with God.” For a Door is closely connected to “Decision” and our “Mind,” so a decision is all about your Mind, Soul, Body, a commitment of your all and your everything, is becoming “One with God,” walking in harmony. Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.” Being yoked together means to walk in step with the other, even and shared pulling action, harmony, oneness, sharing the burden, in tune with each other, not pulling ahead or lagging behind, side by side, in-step, how good are we at being “One with God?”
