Name – Adoption
In this Article we will explore something that I have noticed more clearly the longer I contemplate and ponder on this, so here we go. Revelation 14:1 “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.” Revelation 22:4 “And they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] in their foreheads.” In Bible understanding, foreheads equate to your thoughts, intentions, focus; basically who you are and where your roots or base camp is, which is who you are and where you belong, Family – Home. This depicts all God’s kids, and they are all back Home for the grandest Reunion ever conceived, so are you going to be part of God’s Family and present and accounted for, or shut outside the door to life, lost and dead?
Romans 8:15 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” Romans 8:23 “And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.” Romans 9:4 “Who are Israelites; to whom [pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises;” Galatians 4:5 “To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Ephesians 1:5 “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,”
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Isaiah 43:7 “[Even] every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”
John 17:6-13 “I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are]. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.” Luke 3:38 “Which was [the son] of Enos, which was [the son] of Seth, which was [the son] of Adam, which was [the son] of God.
So how do we get our heads around this issue; well that’s easy, we start at the very beginning. In Luke 3:38 we have that every Human Being ever past present or future is part of God’s Family, well that is until Satan and Sin comes along and droves of deceived people just like the Prodigal Son, head for the Pig Pen (it is certainly not what they were conned to believe would happen and the end results were not promoted to be like this either), so the deceived leave their Heavenly Father for a new Substitute Dad and kingdom.
Wise people are never really “Tempted” to leave the safety of Fathers Home; and those “who then come to their senses” quickly get up and head homeward. This 180 degree shift in focus in the Hebrew understanding is what is called “Repentance,” the turning from what has turned out to be very sour empty promises, to come back home to the assurance and reality of Fathers House and Heaven, with Father always waiting at the door to reinstate those who come humbly home to him. We have this in John 6:37 “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
So from this we discover that if you have repented, forsaken and turned permanently from Sin; and are now “In Christ” and “Christ in you” as Paul so often writes, you are then Christ’s, also you are the child of Father God, as Jesus Christ and Father God are one. Back to our opening verses, living “In Christ” means you are living in harmony with “Every word from the mouth of God” (Matt 4:4), that means that Father God’s name is written within you as you think and contemplate Heavenly things all the time. This then proves that you are really “In Christ” and that Fathers Name is written in your Character by your thoughts, deeds and actions, you are what is seen by all around you as “a Genuine Christian.”
Dear Reader; please will you commit to living “In Christ” and your sins all confessed and forsaken, covered by the “Blood of the Lamb,” and the Name of Father God written clearly in your forehead as a token and an evidence that your Salvation is real and not some phoney clone look alike. Let us use this Christmas Season to re-align ourselves and get back onto God’s Heavenly Highway, for shortly the redeemed will actually stand before Father God.
