Come Out of Sin
I was watching a TV Program and it was the Testimony of a group of people who had individually left a sinful lifestyle, and how they were now progressing well, but the things that they were struggling with, is Temptation, which is what we all of us get bombarded with. We have this verse in Revelation, and it calls us “to come out” as found in Revelation 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
Some complained to God, “I was born this way, so I can’t help it,” to which God replies, “well get re-born,” most participants were Baptised “born of water into a new being” and of course they are now “born of the spirit” by their commitment to Jesus Christ. They all found out very quickly, as all us Christians regularly know, that Satan never gives up on anyone who leaves his fold, and is regularly back again with a new temptation and renewed pressure to once more sin and then to re-join his ranks, of the lost and the sinners. As we all know, “Commitment to Jesus Christ is an on-going journey.”
There was a unanimous affirmation, that they were “Just a sinner, saved by Grace,” and we all fit right on into that category. Temptation was a constant battle, but we have this promise, Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
These comments were quite common, “I can’t accept what God can’t accept,” “Deny Self, Accept God, for he has a much better way for us.” “We are saved From our Sin,” “Experience Jesus Christ, he will lead you step by step and day by day,” “are you operating on the Devils Plans, or on God’s Plans?” Their roads to recovery all started from “Acknowledging their sin,” and then to “cease from practicing and participating in sin – that was their old life.”
A common term was, “we must put Morality back into Morals,” and lots of marches and rallies are not about a “Civil Rights Issue – it really is a Sin Issue.” What started them on their alternative lifestyles was the “need for unconditional Love and Acceptance,” and funnily, that was exactly what brought them back out, as it was that “Unconditional Love and Acceptance” of Jesus Christ. Prayer had a major impact in their “Coming Out of sin” as all had a prayer warrior who prayed hard for them, and sometimes for many years, just praying that God would interrupt their individual plans, and then be active in their new life.
As with all of us “Saved,” Jesus found us and met us right where we were and he is real, and offering us all a far better way. What was said, and we all should live by this, “Pray for those who are sinning, and stop criticising them.” They found, as we all have, and do find, we all need, to “Fall in love with Jesus Christ,” for it is the Love of God that constraineth us {2 Cor 5:14}, or John 12:32 “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me.” Another point that came out was 2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
Quote; “The entrance of sin into heaven cannot be explained. If it were explainable, it would show that there was some reason for sin. But as there was not the least excuse for it, its origin will ever remain shrouded in mystery. God did not create evil. He only made the good, which was like Himself. Evil, sin, and death, are the result of disobedience, which originated in Satan. {TA 31}
Temptation is nothing more than “Coveting what belongs to somebody else,” but there is Victory in Jesus Christ. We can all overcome sin, when we beat/overcome temptation. We have this admonition in James, as found in James 1:13-15 “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 “What, know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” Please read the list in Galatians 5:14-26.
Dear Reader; we have all heard the saying, “He who lives in a glass house does not throw stones,” or John 8:7b “and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” We are all sinners saved by grace, and there is no gradient scale which makes my sin more holier than yours, so a gossiper is identical to a mass murderer, you are either “In Sin” or “In Christ” for any sin means that you are removed from Christ, and need to repent and to come home. So let us unconditionally love the sinners into Christ, for somebody once, extended that to each and every one of us, so let us then reach out to all we can, so that they came out from sin.
